Small Business Marketing Strategies, which should you use?

This article will talk about the different marketing ways to bring attention to your small business regardless of what type of business it is. In the end the person seeking your services and products will be satisfied and will become a lifelong user of your products.  Remember  you too are a customer and need to be in the customer mentality when creating your strategies.

To start your own business is a big step but it feels great.  Then you start to wonder what type of marketing strategies you are going to use to attract the type of customer you want and also to be financially sound. Take note that you never mix business with personal funds it is a sure way for your business becoming one of the statistics, but that is another article.

There is quite a bit of strategies you can use to market your small business. There are flyer’s which are old-fashioned and can be costly but you get the “word” out.  Business cards at local businesses, YouTube, blogs, banner advertisements on the web, CD handouts, radio and TV commercials and affiliations with other businesses that mention your business to potential clients are different ways to get attention. Since technology is always evolving, these seem to be the main chains of communication that people go to and rely on for research on a certain types of services and/or products.

The internet is a great way to market your small business but you have to make sure that not only are you genuine but that you stand out among the other thousands of businesses that are competing “against” you.  For example, where would Nike be if it didn’t have the swoosh sign and the saying, “just do it”?  How about McDonald’s,  if it didn’t have Ronald?(You can make a better burger at home) but can you market your business better?

Be sure that you stand out for the millions of people who are looking for you! Of course they need your service/product but why do they want to come to you?  Never mind the small business marketing strategies you use, think of the customer first and if you have a dissatisfied customer take a survey. Why they didn’t come again? Why were they dissatisfied?  Being a little personal with the people who are seeking you will make you stand out and demonstrates empathy, if that is not to your liking then this type of business may not be for you.

The internet, television and the world have become fast paced.  The sure way to get your services out is to be different from the competition and that you care. That is why repeat satisfied customers come time and time again to you. If the internet is too “frightening” for you then you may lose the opportunity to grow.  Big companies that have lasted for many years, GE, Maytag, Ford and the list goes on should be what your small business should emulate, businesses that have changed and succeeded along the tides of time. These companies have succeeded, because they were willing to change with time and made a point of the customer being part of that change.

It will be a struggle for you and your business if you don’t want to change.  Just like you have people to emulate and made changes so does the business.  So come and join the crowd waiting to meet you and your business because of the genuine and distinguishable small business marketing strategies you have produced with them in mind.
